2023 Honda HR-V vs 2022 Honda HR-V

Serving Brighton, MI

In your search for your next small crossover SUV, your attention may naturally settle on the popular Honda HR-V. This subcompact model has maintained a long-standing appeal for drivers in the Brighton area, and its appeal grows stronger in 2023 with next-generation updates from bumper to bumper. What are the important differences between the 2022 HR-V and the 2023 HR-V?

Performance

While the HR-V has the same powertrain in both model years, this engine has been enhanced with more horsepower in 2023. In 2022, this 2.0-liter, four-cylinder gas powertrain produces 141 horsepower. In 2023, it produces 158 horsepower. All trims for both years are equipped with a continuously variable auto transmission and a front-wheel drivetrain. However, all-wheel drive is also available as an option.

Appearance

The updates to the 2023 HR-V extend to the exterior styling. The front end’s new look includes a refreshed, smaller grille with a modernized, rounded bumper. The reshaped headlights flow into a point as they reach the grille. Across the sides of the HR-V, chiseled, deep contouring and thin molding on the lower perimeter add personality to the crossover. Select trims for both years may have a chrome exhaust tip, up to 18-inch wheels, and heated side mirrors.

Features

The 2023 HR-V cabin also has been modernized with an updated dashboard design. In the second row, the configurable seats that were offered in 2022 are no longer configurable. Many of the 2022 HR-V’s features continue to be available in 2023. Some of these include an auto climate control system, smart device app integration, USB ports, leather material, remote engine start, heated front seats, lane departure warning, a 9-inch color display screen, a wireless charging pad, parking sensors, and a few additional features.
